Jan Borreck (*1985), a trained industrial clerk, is an M.A. student at the Folkwang University of the Arts under Prof. Dr. Steffen Siegel in the field of Photography Studies and Research. Prior to this, he studied photography at the FH Bielefeld and graduated with Prof. Adrian Sauer in the field of generative image systems. Throughout his studies, he worked on exhibitions at the Museum Folkwang, the Wüstenrot Foundation's Documentary Photography Awards, the Triennial of Photography in Hamburg, the Kunstverein Bielefeld and the MARTa in Herford, among others. He has been a scholarship holder of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes since 2022. Jan is curating and organizing the Open Call 2025 under the theme “Feelings” for the upcoming Photoszene Festival.
