Like many women of the upper classes, Elisabeth of Austria-Hungary, known as Sisi, collected portrait photographs in the 1860s. The Museum Ludwig holds eighteen of her albums with about 2,000 photographs. On them are nobles - many members of Elisabeth's family - celebrities and works of art. Sisi used these highly staged images to contour her own image. Antonia Gruber and Floria Marie Ude in conversation with curator Miriam Szwast.
