Odessa

Christian Gieraths was in Odessa in 2008 and, under the title 'Odessa Suites', shot a large number of motifs, both interior views of public buildings (hospital, theatre, etc.) and street scenes. One particular series shows scenes featuring then new installed, large city megalights and their luxury hoardings, in contrast to the occasionally morbid architecture and the rather sedate business life on the street. The diving tower on the beach, pointing towards the Black Sea, is also outstanding.
