Sophie-Charlotte Opitz

Sophie-Charlotte Opitz is a professor of media studies at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts and a freelance curator. After completing her dissertation on contemporary war photography, she received various fellowships, including from the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation and Villa Aurora & Thomas Mann House e. V. Her research focuses in particular on visual politics in the context of global conflicts and processes of social transformation. She publishes regularly in academic anthologies, art publications, and national daily newspapers.
