Urs Stahel

Urs Stahel studied German language and literature, linguistics, history, and philosophy at the University of Zurich. He is a co-founder of the Kunsthalle Zürich, the Fotomuseum Winterthur, and the Coalmine Gallery in Winterthur. He also established the collections of the Fotomuseum Winterthur, the Fondazione MAST, and Art Vontobel. From 1993 to 2013, he served as director and curator of the Fotomuseum Winterthur. Today, he works as artistic director of the Fondazione MAST in Bologna and as a consultant for Foto Colectania in Barcelona.
