The forum für Fotografie Köln exhibits two photo sequences by Chargesheimer and Eusebius Wirdeir. The photographs from Cologne's Südstadt, taken in 1955/56 and 2020/24, demonstrate that the vocabulary of photography is coupled with the respective age. This is not only a question of shooting technology, but also of aesthetic perception and realization. The pictures speak of the emotions of photographers and subjects in a traditional quarter of Cologne as the decades pass by.
