Im Rahmen des Programms Artist Meets Archive der Internationalen Photoszene Köln besuchte Galeano im Sommer 2024 das Kölner Dombauarchiv. Aus Galeanos künstlerischer Auseinandersetzung mit dem Archiv ist sein Projekt Domstein-Mission X-DBA-00408 hervorgegangen, das die außergewöhnliche Reise eines Steinfragments vom Dom in den Blick nimmt. Neben einer Publikation sind einige Merchandise-Artikel entstanden, die hier erhältlich sind.

In 2014 ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst brought a very special piece of Cologne with him on his Blue Dot mission to the International Space Station ISS: a cathedral stone. This remnant of Cologne Cathedral’s southern buttress spent 165 days in space, orbiting the earth 2,566 times and travelling 110 million kilometers before returning to its place of origin. Today, this fascinating historical witness is held in the Cologne Cathedral Archives.
Artist Andrés Galeano has traced the cathedral stone’s galactic journey in his collector's edition ‘Cathedral Stone Mission X-DBA-00408’. Each patch tells a part of this unique story – from the stone’s origin, to its journey into space and eventual return to Cologne Cathedral.
