Andrés Galeano was an invited AMA artist for the fourth edition of the project at theDombauarchiv.
He has degrees in philosophy, photography and fine arts. His photographs, video works and performances have been shown in numerous group and solo exhibitions in Europe and America. Galeano's photographic work deals with amateur photography and the medium's historical relationship with the firmament. As a post-photographer, he recycles iconographies and discovers moments in which photography reflects on itself and creates an unexpected metadiscourse.
X-DBA-00408
As part of the Artist Meets Archive program, Galeano visited the Cologne Cathedral Archive in the summer of 2024. The archive's mission is to document the construction and restoration work on Cologne Cathedral and to promote research on the cathedral. Its holdings include files, plans, drawings, photographs, models, an art collection, and a specialist library. Galeano's artistic engagement with the archive resulted in his project Domstein-Mission X-DBA-00408, which focuses on the extraordinary journey of a stone fragment from the cathedral.
