I DREAMT OF GROWING UP QUEER IN A FREE IRAN
2023
2x fine art prints, AI-generated image, 34x34cm
Based on the questions: "How can we make ourselves visible as queer people in a repressive environment without endangering ourselves? How can we dream of a freedom that is not granted to us in reality?", Bozorgnia uses generative AI techniques. To create a world of her imagination, free of utopia, transformed into queer-friendly justice. The images created from prompts show the closeness and intimacy that is missing in this very place and is still unthinkable. In doing so, these images, as well as her question of personal authenticity, are caught in an in-between relationship in the morality and ethical meaning of art and society. Bozorgnia's work is an expression of feelings in the immaterial visual world of utopian freedom, a desire for love.
