Alexander Hagmann is the founder and publisher of ‘dieMotive - Zeitschrift zur Kultur der Fotografie’, as well as producer of the dieMotive podcast and developer of the FOTOGRAFENRATEN card quiz. He studied photography at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts, where he completed his Master's degree in Photography - Photographic Studies.
In addition to his dieMotive project, he works as a freelance photographer, lecturer, designer and in digital communication for photography festivals and cultural institutions.
Hagmann sees himself as a communicator for photography. He lives and works in Hamburg and has been a member of the DFA and the DGPh since 2021, where he has been on the board of the Image Section since 2024.
