Artist Meets Archive #4: Publication by Jimmi Wing Ka Ho.

Invisible City is a visual search for traces in the Chinese metropolis of Qingdao: starting from a colonial photo archive, Jimmi Wing Ka Ho follows the visible and invisible traces of German colonial rule – from restored Wilhelminian-style villas to myth-enshrouded underground sewage systems. The city itself becomes an archive in which history disappears, is rewritten – and yet continues to have an impact.

The book was created as part of the Artist Meets Archive Residency of the Internationale Photoszene Köln at the Rautenstrauch-Joest-Museum in Cologne.

20 x 28 cm, 90 pages, softcover, German and English

Design: Helena Melikov

Texts by Ye Charlotte Ming, Jimmi Wing Ka Ho, Wang Shuai
