SILENT PROVINCES is a counter project against the arbitrary flood of images and attention economy that characterizes our digital everyday. Silent are the analogue spaces that Nicole Ahland has found and photographed in rural regions. The photographs’ compositions are carried by circumspection, calm, and time. They become meditative positions that match the sacred emptiness of the Kunst-Station and Saint Peter’s parish church.
