Eine unsichere Bank
2023 / 2025
PowerPoint live photo film. Color / black and white. 50 min. 2023 / 2025
We find ourselves in Schröder’s work “An Unstable Bank” within the capitalist contemporaneity of real and virtual spaces, where everything can be evaluated and measured. She employs a sarcastic-humorous investigative approach to make the handling of ratings, rankings, and star systems visible in a layered way.
Her synopsis reads: “The mysterious company M. sends me to banks, car dealerships, and an upscale North Sea island. I wander through evaluation forms, life stories, tester briefings, discreetly photograph electric charging stations, record 90 short sentences with and without my (unpopular) regional dialect, and try to figure out why the AI refuses to generate ‘a realistic image of East German people eating lobster in a BMW’...”
Her performance will take place on May 16 at 4:45 PM during the symposium Another State of Mind. What we Feel – What we See – What we Do. A recording will later be shown at the gallery Gemeinde in the back room at Ebertplatz. The film will restart on the hour, every hour.
